Lensbaby International Photo Walk-Oakland Historical Cemetary

May 01, 2022  •  Leave a Comment

On Apr. 30, I took part in the Lensbaby International Photowalk.... It was an extraordinary Adventure! There was a Treasure Hunt of what to capture to be a guide for the Photographers. It took us on a photographic journey and to spark inspiration for us to interpret and create the image that we felt best represents the concept. There was no right or wrong way to create, so based on the theme, we used our imagination and creative freedom to create what we wanted and just capture photos of history. The location for Atlanta, was the Historic Oakland Cemetery. I was a little caught off guard at first with the location being a cemetery. But, upon arrival I quickly realized this was more than just an ordinary cemetery, it was atmosphere and environment of history.

The event was also a space to meet other creative photographers and share knowledge and fellowhip between liked minded people with creative spirits and LOVE of Photography! I hope you enjoy the images I captured.....

Lenox Park-Atlanta, GA (Brookhaven Neighborhood)

November 15, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

So, since the Holiday time is upon us and well as Covid-19 still unfortunately, I decided to find some nice outdoor areas, to have Christmas Photo Shoot sessions for my potential and current Clients.  On Saturday Nov. 14, I happily came across a hidden gem called Lenox Park, tucked away between Office buildings and an Apartment Complex located in between Brookhaven and Buckhead areas of Atlanta, off of Roxboro Rd in Buckead to be exact. This park is simply put, Beautiful and CUTE!.... It was also decorated for the Holidays with lovely ornaments and wreaths throughout the park, which was PERFECT!!  I absolutely LOVED being in this park! I was walking the Nature Trails with my camera capturing the images that I did. The vibe of this park is so just so Beautiful and with the Pond in the center with the fountain. You can watch families having picnics and feeding the ducks, couples relaxing together on the grass and walking together. There's even a Dog park area! It's a small but gorgeous park with two wooden Bridges, one of those British Red London Phone Booth's (but no phone inside), lots of Ducks/Geese, Stairs, Nice Rocks of difference sizes to sit on to have your photo captured and a Big Clock too! This place is just Beautiful place to take photos and have Nature be your backdrop. I also saw people jogging, walking their dog, sitting, praying, reading, overall just enjoying the view, and most of all enjoying and embracing the lovely day God had bestowed on Atlanta this day. The Fountain in the middle of the Lake was just breathtaking and peaceful.

This park is a must visit location to get away from ANY stress you may be going through, with Coronavirus still haunting us unfortunately....I couldn't stop admiring it and quite frankly to be honest, was kinda sad about leaving as I wrapped up my Mini Photo Shoot Scout session. So, if you want an Outdoor Photo Shoot Session during this pandemic and afterwards, and it to be relaxing and fun, give me call, I know the PERFECT place!!

Genesis Atlanta Creative Studio

So, on Oct. 3, I went to my relaxing cool spot of the Atlanta Beltline (Eastside Trail) to go down to pay another visit to the Creative Studio I came across two weeks ago. I wanted to ask some more questions and get acquainted with the place with another walk through tour per the Photography equipment prior to me renting and bringing my clients and connect with some creative minds who might be in the building. While there, I encounter the young gentleman who assisted me prior and he allowed me to do a quick Fun Mini Shoot of him and his guest. So, of course I was highly impressed with the hospitality and couldn't wait to rent out studio time and start bringing my clients who may live in the Atlanta closer to this side of town. So, if your ever in need of a cool and comfy place with a relaxing vibe to do photo work and get your creativity flowing and create some creative moments, bring your Make-up and Hair Stylist as there's n area for them right above in a Loft area with a Kitchenette. Check out Genesis Atlanta on the Atlanta Beltline. Website: genesisatlanta.life

Side Note: The photos of the studio at the end are from my cell phone while I was lounging on the couch......

Capturing The Atlanta BeltLine

September 13, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

On Sept. 12, I decided to take my camera (my passion) and spend a good part of my Saturday afternoon checking out the Atlanta BeltLine and see all it had to offer. I had been there previously, but just for a visit in thee evening to pick up some food in August and didn't do any walking and then a quick photo photo shoot with my Nephew. However, I was truly intrigue by this area of Atlanta that had been thriving for the last 2 years and anxious to see the entire BeltLine area. So, since I was in a creative mood and I wanted capture the vibe and atmosphere and just see what kind of energy is happening in the entire area. I was really impressed by the abundance of of Apartments and Houses that had been built, was the first things I had notice and then the vibe and energy of all the people walking, relaxing and just overall enjoying themselves and having fun. I arrived at 12pm and decided to have some lunch first at my favorite restaurant there called "Hawkers", which has Pan-Asian cuisine and has the BEST Basil Fried Rice!! About 15 mins of arriving, it started RAINING! But low and behold, the Sun eventually started to come back out! After having my meal, I unpacked my camera and started my adventure on what would be a 22 mile LONG walk (Yes! 22miles!) around the BeltLine. I decided to check out all the restaurants and businesses on the strip of area that I started on right across from the Krog Street Market, which were comprised of a Ice Cream Shop (Butter and Cream), a Smoothie Place, Bars, and a cozy and quaint Coffee Shop. I was very impressed and intrigue of how everyone was so relaxed and just having a good time. As, I began my walk, my first thing I started noticing was the artistic work of the Graffiti that was displayed along the corridors on the pathway underneath the overpass, fences, rocks.

As a Photographer, my first thoughts were these areas would make for Great backgrounds for a Teen, especially after having done a short photo shoot of my Nephew the week prior (only walked about a quarter of mile on one side). Another thing I was truly impressed with was, the incredible NICE looking neighborhoods surrounding the BeltLine, thinking I would live here in this area, now whether or not as Single person, I could afford it was whole other story-NOT! But, I could see myself living in this area for sure!! The entire area was speaking to me and my camera from the perspective of Arts and Creativity galore. My creative spirit was evolving as I was absorbing the visuals and energy flowing. The whole 5 hours I spent walking and taking photos, the Beltline was truly feeding my soul of who I was as a person. There were alot of very interesting areas that I came upon, especially a business that had a look of Tuscany, Italy. One of the most interesting moments, was underneath one of the overpasses in which there was a filming going on of some Teens Dancing and a Little Girl singing and dancing and people looking on and smiling. I'm thinking, "this moment is really cool and feeling the spirit of these people and the surroundings". Then there was a guy in action painting on the overpass wall and of course I wanted to capture him in the moment of doing his artistic thing.

During the walk, it's important to know and realize that lot's of people will be riding there bikes and you have to be on guard as to not get run over and stay out of there way. It's also important to know that you will be TIRED when your done, but even though my legs were indeed killing me afterwards, it was worth every pain I was feeling and more, as my journey of my Photo Shoot came to an end. I've found New hang out spot that's for sure, and it's also spot to enjoy with a special person in your life. After all, what good is it to be immerse in such an relaxing atmosphere and not have anyone to every enjoy it with. At the end of my creative photo session in capturing the BeltLine vibe with my camera, I have gain a profound perspective for enjoying life and and lost some weight in the process per the LONG walk.   Check out my pics below....

Always Staying Focus,

Tammie
